Sometimes I wonder as a black man, why we behave the way we do. We seem to be oblivious of the technological changes and advancements in all spheres of life constantly taking place before us and instead choose to ignore every effort at peoducing an advanced society like other races.

Black African nations have refused to live over their colonisation and till date still look towards their colonial masters for economic and social survival. Very many have fought or are still fighting inter-tribal wars and causing untold hardship to their fellows in attempts to grab or hold on to power. Millions of innocents have lost their lives to these needless wars and many are still dying like in the darfur region and Ethiopia.

Is there something inherently wrong with the black man? Why is it so difficult for us to get our acts together? Why do we still believe that politics is a do or die affair? Why are our leaders so corrupt?

Why is the most populous black nation, endowed with enormous natural and human resources like Nigeria still wallowing in poverty 46years after independence? Why is a country with such large numbers of universities and schools of higher education and educated elites unable to proffer acceptable solutions to the country's problems?

Are we ever going to be serious about development in our various black countries or continue to pay lip service to it while we take turns to loot the country?

Is the black man ever going to outgrow slavery and colonisation?
